Daylight saving time begins on Sunday

In the Spring, Americans lose one hour but it results in longer days and sunnier evenings heading into the spring and summer.

Daylights savings time kicks in across the U.S. when clocks jump from 1:59 a.m. to 3 a.m. on Sunday until Nov. 2.

In the fall, the U.S. gains an extra hour and the clocks fall back.
